Join Claremont Ensemble in 2025

"The Space between Land and Dreams"

Friday 16th May 7.30pm

United Reformed Church, Neston, CH64 9TR

Join Becky Gould (viola) and Ron Abramski (piano) for an enchanting evening of music that explores the realms of dreams, waking, and living.

Their captivating programme features a range of vibrant colour scapes, including Rebecca Clarke's stunning Morpheus, and Viola Sonata,

Lili Boulanger's Nocturne, and excerpts from the delightful Frank Bridge Suite.

The program also highlights the drama in Bartok's music as well as evocative tales told by Elena Katz-Chernin.

Becky Gould is a versatile viola player whose performances with orchestras and ensembles have taken her worldwide.

After gaining graduate and post graduate degrees on violin at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Becky went on to win a scholarship to study viola with Professor Ian Jewel at the Royal Academy of Music.

Becky took up a full-time position with the Hallé Orchestra and then later moved to join the viola section of the

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.

She is currently freelancing across the UK and has recently guest-lead Manchester Camerata, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, and London Concert Orchestra, as well as serving as guest

Co-Principal with the BBC Philharmonic.

Becky also works with the NDR Radio Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonia, and London Mozart Players.

As a chamber musician, Becky has performed in the UK, France, and Germany, and co-directed a concert of the NDR RadioPhilharmonie and RLPO viola sections in Hannover's Rundfunkhaus, recorded for broadcast on Nord Deutsche Radio.

Notably she founded Claremont Ensemble for lockdown concerts, directing their CD release "A Winter's Journey" in a six week window of opportunity! The ensemble gained a solid reputation, and were subsequently commissioned in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, Holburne Museum, Walker Art Gallery and National Museums Liverpool, to provide a soundscape for the world acclaimed Tudors Portrait exhibition.

British pianist Ron Abramski has been hailed by musicians and press alike for combining virtuosity with original interpretations.

Ron Abramski studied at Chetham's School of Music with Ryszard Bakst and Maria Curcio, a renowned pedagogue and student of Artur Schnabel. At just 14, he impressed composer Witold Lutosławski with a memorized performance of his Piano Concerto (1988), prompting Lutosławski to remark, "It's incredible what he can do." Abramski later studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe with Prof. Fany Solter.

As a prize winner of the Worshipful Company of Musicians' "Maisie Lewis Young Artists Awards" and the UK Making Music Young Concert Artist Awards, Abramski made his Wigmore Hall recital debut and performed engagements throughout the UK. From 2009 to 2011, he was a regular chamber music partner to clarinet virtuoso Wolfgang Meyer.

In 2004, Abramski founded the Abramski Trio with his wife, bassoonist Rebekah Abramski, and oboist Mirjam Budday, performing throughout Germany.

He has premiered works by David Forshaw and Nigel Treherne, and received standing ovations for performances of Chopin's Piano Concerto

No. 1 at the Bedburger Festpiel in Germany, and recitals in the Dame Myra Hess series in Chicago and Raleigh, North Carolina, appearing on WFMT and WCPE radio stations during his time there.

Currently, Abramski serves as Professor of Piano at the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey and Piano Tutor for the Virtual Menuhin School.
